WestGate Church Gives Our Shop a Tune-Up
You might have noticed that the shop is looking a bit different as of late. We have our friends at WestGate Church to thank for the many, many improvements they helped make to our space as a part of their Beautiful Day initiative.
Beautiful Day is a weekend in which members of WestGate Church love their neighbors in tangible ways to make a positive impact. All across the Bay Area, members of the church volunteered with a variety of incredible organizations that aim to help community members in need.
Their mission to do good led them to Good Karma Bikes, where they completely transformed our warehouse. Their work streamlined our operations, which will help us work more efficiently and connect more people with the transportation they need.
Over the course of one weekend, they completed some massive projects, building 12 new bike racks that hold up to 23 bikes each, deep-cleaning our warehouse, fixing every flat tire, washing every bike in storage, reorganizing the parts storage area, and so much more!
These improvements are exactly what we need to keep the wheels turning and our organization going at full speed! Moving forward, our bike repair services will be even quicker and more efficient because of the work done during Beautiful Day to reorganize, clean, and remodel our workspaces.
We now know exactly where every bike is, as well as its condition. We’ll be able to grant bikes to even more people in need of affordable transportation thanks to our volunteers!
We’re grateful for the kindness WestGate Church showed us. It’s through our shared dedication to turning our compassion into action that we’re able to make positive changes in our community.
